I bought it this morning, so I can't give an in-depth review, but so far I love it, it just feels perfect. Only little niggle is that I thought that the USB cable used for charging it from the laptop would serve as well as a conductor for the signal, but no, you still have to keep the wireless one, which takes two ports and on an ultrabook that's a lot.

I purchased one of these about 6 months ago and never looked back
I love gaming and although not released as a gaming mouse this is great.
Customisable buttons make it easy to do things in game (like reloading) without moving other fingers on keyboard.
Variable sensitivity at the move of your thumb is great as well.
It 'glues' to your hand shape. I can walk about with it in my hand without having to hold it there.
The wheel is fantastic for web browsing as well as the flywheel mode is superb... "to the bottom of this forum NOW!" and you're there.
The micro-usb charger is a real boon since the revolution stand always made you stop for a while to recharge.
10/10 to Logitech.

Got a glass desk so need the darkfield tech. However I have a KVM swirch ro share the screen, keyboard and mouse between my home computer and my laptop.
This mouse simply doesn't work with the KVM switch - worse than not working it works for 10 seconds then says it's unplugged and then works again for another 10 seconds.
Nice mouse but I can't believe my set up is particularly unusual so zero points for usability.

The fantastic customer support kindley sent me one of these as a replacement which I mainley use for gaming as it is cordless and less restrictive, but still maitains perfect stability during gameplay.
This mouse is also very comfortable for long gamming sesions as well as having a battery life to match only requiring charging after some 40 continious hours!
Has 9 programable buttons in total including 4 handy thumb buttons which also except macros.
Can also be used corded while charging if you dont notice the previous batery warning lights!
All in all 5 stars for a great product.

I bought this mouse for home use about 3 months ago as I was fed up using corded mice which just didn't feel great. I have found it has been great for using at home on a wooden desk, and since moving to an office in Aberdeen I have recently purchased another MX mouse for use here to replace the standard pc supplied mouse.
I like the way it "glides" across the desk, extremely easy to setup, just have to look for a keyboard to go with the mouse.

I'm writing this review, hoping that Logitech will have a closer look on future products.
Everything is just perfect but:
- why the charging cable is so stiff? Shouldn't it be more flexible, like wired mouses cable? There is small wrestling going on the desk whilst charging the mouse.
- can't reach "forward" button and my hand is not small at all
- not sure if that's mouse fault, but previous mouse didn't have this issue (also logitech) - the scrolling speed varies very, very much on various software. For Example in MS Outlook small move on the roller scrolls the list of emails by half height of the screen.
And... bring back diNovo Laser keyboard! And add small touchpad to it please!

Owned this mouse for just over a year now and have stared running into problems now. As a commuting designer I bought this for long days of CAD work. I Was originally disappointed to find that there was nowhere to tuck in the receiver under the mouse as on a cheaper, Logitech mouse I owned when transporting it. Loved the ergonomics, buttons, features, styling etc. But the receiver appears to be the weak point. Purposely didn't leave it in my laptop when travelling out of fear of it getting knocked and damaged. After a year of relatively frequent unplugging for transport it became temperamental and eventually stopped working. Disappointed with this considering its price point. Other than that it’s the best mouse I’ve ever used.

I loved this mouse. I loved it so much, I bought one for the office too.
Everything was perfect until I upgraded to OSX Lion and now the cursor jitters around all over the place.
Lots od other people seem to have the same problem but no word from Logitech at all.

This is easy to install and configure. The unifying receiver is a great idea, especially if you have another unifying device, eg keyboard, as it saves on wasting USB slots on receivers.
However for some reason this mouse feels like it is always trying to slip out of my grasp. It feels quite slippy, the thumb reset part is not quite wide enough for my thumb and the slope at the back is a little steeper than my previous MX1100 and so it feels as if it is just out of reach. I don't have small hands but I'm not a bear either!
I bought this mouse because of the DarkField technology; I could do away with my mouse mat. However this is just too uncomforatble to use and I have gone back to my trusty old MX1100.
Nevermind, money grows on trees doesn't it?

I bought this as I have a glass desk and the darkfield technology stated it would be the ideal solution. However, its performance is varied and anything but accurate. This is a nightmare when trying to do any detailed work, spreadsheets and useless for playing games. I have had to resort to a mouse pad and wish I had just kept my old wireless mouse and saved£70. On the plus side it feels a quality product - just shame that I am let down by the key feature I bought it for.

My old Logitech gaming mouse finally gave up the ghost after 5+ years! I tried Saitek RAT7 which was incredibly bad and then Razor which kept not being recognised by my computer. I got the performance mouse and it is fantastic. The sensitivity is very good, the wireless feature is superb and the ergonomics are wonderful. I like Logitech and will keep with them. There's very little doubt why this company are the best for mice!

Like a lot of other reviewers I bought this mouse to replace a previous Logitech mouse.
I have had this mouse for several months now and even though Logitech state that the battery will last for about a month on one charge, I have never managed to get more than a week from one charge. I have even changed the battery for another rechargable one, with no extra benifit.
The mouse itself is really great, nice and comfortable to use and well spaced buttons etc. Might be a bit big for a woman with a small hand, but overall excellent.
My overall rating would have been a five star if the battery lasted longer, as it is I might as well have a corded mouse as it is on charge so often.

Having upgraded from a previouse version ( which was the BEST mouse ever) this one has been a bitter disappointment.....For a while it works fine, then for no apparent reason it 'loses it's way' so I remove it from the mouse mat & use it on the esk & hey presto it works again :) for 5 minutes...then it 'loses it's way again'. I have used Logitech mice for years & whilst I was all fired up with enthusiasm...this mouse has been a HUGE disappointment....( Logitech have replaced it twice ..to their credit....but sadly...I still have the same problems...sorry Logitech....MEGA fail :(

Overall the product is good. However, the button of Zoom and previous/next page should be switched the position. Because those two button uses more frequently and you have remove your thumb to get it that is reducing the comfort.

There's no real point in writing an essay about this mouse, as many people already have. For one, that takes forever to read just for one or two main points, so I felt that it would be much better to simply summarise this mouse's best points.
When Logitech describe it as a 10 button mouse, it really is a 10 button mouse. The setpoint software makes it easy to change the function of each button.
You can even change what the left and right click buttons do!
Charging the mouse is.. Well, awesome. If charging this mouse using the USB cable provided plugged in to a computer, you don't need to have the wireless receiver thingy.
The Battery life is immense- it really will last two years.
The shape is almost perfect. Obviously, the exact shape and positioning of parts of a "perfect" mouse are different from person to person, but this mouse is a one-fits-all type and is practically perfect.
It really does work on glass, too! It works to the same standard on any surface, making it highly usable.
The positioning of the thumb controls is slightly off for me- these buttons are slightly too high for my liking, but still not in such a bad place as for them to get in the way of every day use. In fact, they're in just the right position, if you can reach them with your thumb (unlike me).
This mouse is incredibly accurate. It well deserves being called the "Performance Mouse", I haven't missed a single click with it in the week or so use that it has had with me. It is perfect for what I use it for, which is a mixture of computer gaming and program design as you can change every button freely to do as you wish.
I set the thumb controls as several different function keys for a better gaming experience.
Overall, the Performance Mouse MX is a good purchase for almost any use as a mouse, be it gaming or simply computing, this mouse will work well for you.

I have just recieved this mouse today and have been trying it using different games and applications. The shape of the mouse is very pleasant and fits your hand like a glove. The mouse looks great and the quality of the materials used is what you would expect of a mouse with such a high price tag. Sadly i do have a number of complaints i didn't expect.
First complaint is of the mouse wheel, the notches as you scroll are too far apart and although the notches don't seem too strong they are when it comes to smooth and steady internet browsing. Also the sideways 3d scrolling is awful, there is no positive click when you push the wheel to the side as logitech made it pressure sensitive so you can slowly scroll or quickly zip across the page. This was a clever idea but its so stiff to push across you inadvertently push down with your thumb for leverage causing you to press the hidden application switch button i have now had to disable. The mouse wheel does have a button to disable the notchy feel whilst scrolling which is a nice touch, but again it was an idea best left on paper as you lose any feel for scrolling.
My 2nd complaint is the battery level indicator, as this only lights to show when the mouse is charging and gives you no clue during wireless use as to what battery life is left.
The 3rd complaint would be the position of the forward/backward buttons. Many designs over a number of years now have placed these buttons close to your thumb for quick easy use. This mouse has them placed much higher which means you can no longer roll your thumb to one side to press them withought changing your grip. You now have to lift your thumb off and re-adjust your grip each time. It seems a petit complaint but after using previous mice from logitech that dont have this issue, this seems to take away from the quality and enjoyment i expect and makes browsing more of a chore again.
A positive note is that the tracking capabilities of the darkfield laser are not exaggerated and it does track perfectly on any surface, even the woodgrain on my desk doesn't seem to have any affect where other mice tend to skip around.
overall i am only reasonably happy but by no means jumping for joy now i have it. I only hope logitech read these reviews and take all our feedback into consideration on future models.

I purchased this performance mouse MX 3 weeks ago as my old MX Revolution mouse starting causing problems with charging battery.
I am very impressed with it so far and use it a lot for gaming amongst over things.
It was fairly easy to set up but could do with instructions for getting SetPoint up and running properly as took a while to get it right so mouse runs as i want it to.
The build quality is excellent and designed slightly better than the MX Revolution especially the buttons.
It is nice to see that the battery can be replaced on this mouse should it ever die.
The one feature i do like that has been updated on this mouse is that it is easier to charge up whilst still using it, by plugging in the power charger lead which beats having to put on a cradle. Top marks for the update there.
This is a MUST BUY. You`d be silly to miss out on such a fine product.
