MX generation well thought out

Date:22 February 2013
My MX Revolution is still going since 2007, what a piece of kit. Almost feels like its getting better with age. I am hard to please but the MX line of mice is quite excellent. However I wish Logitech would re-make the MX Revolution version just for old times sake. No glitches any day except software incompatibilities with different versions of Windows over the years but then mouse can be used without installing Logitech software. Great product anyways.

As good as you're gonna get

Date:12 February 2013
Having been a Logitech fan for a long time, my first mouse was the Logitech MX700, then I bought the MX600 and when it came out I bought the Performance MX.
None of the previous models have stopped working, I have given them away but they're still functioning.
The MX700 is over ten years old!
Its a great mouse but not without its problems.
My first one stopped left clicking properly and Logitech replaced it quite promptly.
Now the replacement one is messing about a bit, keeps losing connection to the unifying receiver, My keyboard stays connected no problem so it's not the receiver.
I have sent it back and am awaiting the result.
All technology products have a limit, and I use my mouse all day every day.
Other than these foibles, the mouse is an excellent piece of hardware, fits my hand perfectly and looks good, crisp response and log battery life.
Logitech's support deserves a mention here, because they have been flawless. When things go wrong they do their utmost to get things right again, can not speak highly enough of them.

Perfect mouse

Date:07 January 2013
The perfect mouse, in every sense. Had a Logitech M705 which was having trouble tracking properly on a slightly glossy wood surface. This one is cruising without a problem. I love the ergonomics, the dual-mode scroll function, and the fact I can charge it with the same USB cable I use to charge my phone. Can't say anything about using it on glass, as I never used it on that kind of surface and I never will.

When my old Logitech MX600 finally died i was gutted, no longer for sale very few secondhand ones on ebay etc i started to use the HP mouse that came with my PC OK but i still lingered on my old MX then for my birthday my lovely wife bought me this Mouse, and its even better than my old mx600 a perfect weight fits in my hand like a glove and has all the buttons i'll ever need, I find Logitech products allways do what they say on the tin, and have never had any issues with anything i've ever bought or been bought, quality devices and they last. I love logitech as they always represent value for money, the problem today is eveyone knows the price of everything but the value of nothing,Thanks again guys for an excellent product.. now do i need a new keyboard mmm maybe a backlit one would be good when i'm on flight sim in the dark ...

Disappointed

Date:02 August 2012
Usually Logitech products are a safe bet but after having used this MX mouse for more than a year I am fed up with the mouse pointer not always responding.
I use it on a light colour oak table and prior to that another timber top. It will work for a while then movement will pause just enough to be annoying. If it had a mouse ball I would clean it, that's what it feels like.
It's done it since new and is not the first one I have had. It was initially replaced because it stopped responding too frequently!
For some of the time it is a great mouse to use but now I am doing more CAD work it has got to go!

This is without doubt the most comfortable mouse that I have ever used. It has a good weight to it, suits my rather large hands well and has perfect sensitivity. The only issue which I've had with the mouse is the Darkfield tech. There are numerous surfaces that my mouse doesn't work on (glass included) and that was one of the main reasons that I bought the mouse. However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and when used like any other mouse, I've not used a better one.

Close, but not close enough!

Date:07 July 2012
I was excited to use this mouse with the various applications that I work with. Initial thoughts were positive and the mouse felt comfortable to use. Its weight is reassuring and the tracking is reliable. The customisable buttons were in the right places and functioned well.
I have a problem with the middle wheel. The leaning of the wheel provided no use to me and seemed to hinder the middle wheel 'click' function. The mouse I was using needed an unusual amount of force when clicking and the click needed to be made on the back of the middle wheel which was frustrating.
If you are not a CAD user or do not need to click the middle wheel button then I would recommend. Otherwise, find a different mouse because its too frustrating to use.

Great Mouse So Far

Date:22 June 2012
Seems like it's full of features. It's very expensive for a mouse, but I thought I'd shell out as I use it day in day out and my MS mouse had become shoddy in terms of clickability. This mouse does all I need, and the unifying technology is good. I'm glad I no longer have to buy batteries (for a while), all is well and I am happy. Lets hope that it continues to work for a very long time.

Performance Mouse MX Vs MX-1100

Date:11 June 2012
I recently received a Performance mouse MX as a replacement for my Mx-1100 and thought you may benefit from my usage experience.
Feel:
The Performance mouse MX (PMX) looks on first impression to be very similar to the MX-1100 but a quick test in the hand showed that the PMX is designed for a much thinner hand than mine. The MX1100 has quite a wide body that provides a rest position for the little finger and a very comfortable groove for the thumb, whereas the PMX places my little finger almost directly under the 2nd little finger. I find this much less comfortable. Also the thumb groove seems beeper and narrower and for it to sit comfortably i need to move the mouse to a slightly askew angle.
Performance:
The PMX has no DPI switch on the mouse, this seems like an oversight as it requires the loss of one of the other buttons to allow for DPI changing. I was forced to choose the application switching thumb button as my keyboard also has a shortcut for this. Secondly the scroll wheel feels a touch loose and if when you press down the middle mouse button to open a new page in Firefox for instance then it often engages the side scroll. This is further exacerbated by the aforementioned askew angle the mouse must be held in for optimal comfort. I side stepped this issue by simply disabling the side scroll keys. However now my mouse has gone from a 9 button mouse to a 6 button mouse (minus 1 for dpi, minus the side scrolls). The New Unity receiver is also very good as it is much smaller than the receiver for the MX1100.
Overall:
Overall the MX1100 was far superior to the PMX. The PMX is a reasonably comfortable mouse with adequate features however it does feel like a step back in regards to the form and function versus the MX1100. I do Prefer the charging cord for the PMX and the power adapter and case are very useful additions. Overall i would prefer the MX-1100 however the PMX will be an adequate replacement

Would not recomend to anyone

Date:25 May 2012
I got this mouse ab. 6 mths ago. I checked it on a glas, and other surfaces, and at first it was okay, after a month I had to start using a mouse pad because dark-field technology stopped working. I would recommend it to anyone, it doesn't work on any glass, even on a wooden desk, actually it works only on a mouse pad. It i worst than any normal mouse, i can compare it to an average , 3 gbp worth mouse from ebay.

Great design, fully loaded with what you need from a hi spec mouse!
On the down side is the battery life is poor and with a couple of hard days work the mouse is dead and pluged in changing.

Excellent, but..

Date:16 May 2012
I bought it this morning, so I can't give an in-depth review, but so far I love it, it just feels perfect. Only little niggle is that I thought that the USB cable used for charging it from the laptop would serve as well as a conductor for the signal, but no, you still have to keep the wireless one, which takes two ports and on an ultrabook that's a lot.

Superb Mouse for gaming

Date:07 March 2012
I purchased one of these about 6 months ago and never looked back
I love gaming and although not released as a gaming mouse this is great.
Customisable buttons make it easy to do things in game (like reloading) without moving other fingers on keyboard.
Variable sensitivity at the move of your thumb is great as well.
It 'glues' to your hand shape. I can walk about with it in my hand without having to hold it there.
The wheel is fantastic for web browsing as well as the flywheel mode is superb... "to the bottom of this forum NOW!" and you're there.
The micro-usb charger is a real boon since the revolution stand always made you stop for a while to recharge.
10/10 to Logitech.

Useless with KVM

Date:25 January 2012
Got a glass desk so need the darkfield tech. However I have a KVM swirch ro share the screen, keyboard and mouse between my home computer and my laptop.
This mouse simply doesn't work with the KVM switch - worse than not working it works for 10 seconds then says it's unplugged and then works again for another 10 seconds.
Nice mouse but I can't believe my set up is particularly unusual so zero points for usability.

Excellent Mouse

Date:13 January 2012
The fantastic customer support kindley sent me one of these as a replacement which I mainley use for gaming as it is cordless and less restrictive, but still maitains perfect stability during gameplay.
This mouse is also very comfortable for long gamming sesions as well as having a battery life to match only requiring charging after some 40 continious hours!
Has 9 programable buttons in total including 4 handy thumb buttons which also except macros.
Can also be used corded while charging if you dont notice the previous batery warning lights!
All in all 5 stars for a great product.

Excellent Mouse so good I bought a second one

Date:06 January 2012
I bought this mouse for home use about 3 months ago as I was fed up using corded mice which just didn't feel great. I have found it has been great for using at home on a wooden desk, and since moving to an office in Aberdeen I have recently purchased another MX mouse for use here to replace the standard pc supplied mouse.
I like the way it "glides" across the desk, extremely easy to setup, just have to look for a keyboard to go with the mouse.

Love it, seriously love it,

Date:05 January 2012
I'm writing this review, hoping that Logitech will have a closer look on future products.
Everything is just perfect but:
- why the charging cable is so stiff? Shouldn't it be more flexible, like wired mouses cable? There is small wrestling going on the desk whilst charging the mouse.
- can't reach "forward" button and my hand is not small at all
- not sure if that's mouse fault, but previous mouse didn't have this issue (also logitech) - the scrolling speed varies very, very much on various software. For Example in MS Outlook small move on the roller scrolls the list of emails by half height of the screen.
And... bring back diNovo Laser keyboard! And add small touchpad to it please!
