Yes, it's a good quality mouse from Logitech as always. But the lag is really bad and the mouse is too small for an adult to use. Please Logitech make your mice in a range of hand sizes. I've tried it for gaming for a year now and it is just not up to the job. It's too slow even for office work.

Looks and feels great. Handles like a cow on ice.
Date:27 November 2012
I used to have a wired Logitech mouse with exactly the same shape as this M510 though I can't remember if it was also called a M510. The shape is perfect. It sits beautifully in my hand. The buttons are in exactly the right place and require exactly the right force to click. It is an amazingly wonderful piece of equipment from a comfort and ergonomical point of view. What a shame that it simply does not perform. The tracking is atrocious. I have tried it on wood, textile, plastic, paper with a 200dpi alternate dot raster print, "laser" mousemats" and the only thing I have managed to get it to track reasonably well on is a Steelseries Gaming Mousemat....as long as it is in a sideways orientation. Turn it into the intended landscape orientation and the mouse only tracks up or down, turn it to portrait and the mouse tracks in both directions. Weird? Tell me about it. Now, before you mark my review thumbs down, notice that there are a number of people who have suffered the same issue. Google "M510 tracking issues" and you will find that I am not alone in having found this out. It would seem that Logitech have had a problem with manufacturing this model judging by the inconsistent level of quality but have failed to acknowledge this publicly. If anyone from Logitech reads this I invite you to use my mouse and find the fault with it. Tell you what, I'll even pay the postage. Just, please come up with a solution because I love the M510's design and I want one that works but I am not forking out another £40 on something that has a good chance of also not working.

Great Mouse!
Date:24 October 2012
I have been using the mouse for a few months now (probably around 6-ish) and it still feels brand spanking new, it doesn't get sweaty in the hand and the side buttons are VERY useful. The only really complaint about this is that I find the side scroll buttons to be completely unused by myself, but that is more personal preference. I noticed another person complaining about the scrolling being too jerky, my response is that yes, when you scroll it does jerk, but for me that's exactly what I want as I play a lot of video games and so I need a mouse that scrolls in increments so that I can switch weapons easily. Before I bought this mouse, I tried buying another mouse with a smooth scroll, I found that I could not play any games as it would scroll over all the weapons. In terms of everything else, it is great, I haven't had to replace the batteries once yet (I use the computer A LOT) and it has never had issues with interference. The feel is brilliant but the mouse does look a bit old fashioned, but I don't really care about looks.
Great for gaming, not so great for casual users.

Overall a good mice!
Date:12 March 2012
I received this mice as a replacement for my M505 which was a defective peice with the left click not responding sometimes and a loose battery lid. M510 is really good to use as it has a very decent size compared to M505 as well as I also like the forward/backward buttons, they are really handy. It has been just few weeks so cant respond much in detail about it as it has been working fine till now. The only thing which I dont like about this mice is that the scrolling is NOT smooth! It is jerky and it is really irritating to see the pages scroll in jerks! The lost rating is only due to this reason precisely. I just wish if logitech has any solution to this!

Nice for the money
Date:28 February 2012
Bought this mouse to replace an older logitech corded mouse where the cord has become temperamental. I went for this model because it was full sized, decent battery life, and used a laser so tracking should be great on all surfaces. Battery life I can't complain about. I've had the mouse for several months and battery is still showing nearly full in the setpoint software. Size is OK although my older MX518 mouse was slightly bigger. I find this mouse doesn't fill the back of my hand but it's comfortable to use for long periods. The buttons work well, I make good use of the back/forward buttons. When I first bought the mouse I was very disappointed with the tracking. First off the laser sensor is very off centre which make the mouse tricky to use on any surface that isn't flat. I use my leg quite a lot as mouse matt and this has proved problematic. Secondly it refuses to track properly on my desk which is some sort of wood effect laminate. It also refused to track on my old desk which was pine. I bought a mouse matt designed for laser mice for around £2. It's the first mouse matt I've owned for about 10 years. However the mouse now works perfectly.

Good Mouse for Standard Use
Date:22 February 2012
I received this mouse in a combo package with my wave keyboard. All I had to do was insert the USB receiver and I was good to go. The mouse fits perfectly in my hand and I have decent sized hands. I don't have problems hitting any buttons as they are all nicely placed. If you aren't real picky with mouses and just want any mouse, this mouse will do just fine.
The only problems I have with this mouse is tracking. I play games where pixels matter (counter-strike) and also use the mouse to do a little photoshop action. The mouse immensely struggles to be precise when you most need it.
Like I said, if you are just casually using a mouse, this is a good mouse. But if you are looking for a mouse with an overall higher quality, and a more features (such as a free scrolling wheel), you are going to have to spend some more money.

Why the plastic ring?
Date:18 February 2012
Programmable buttons are great. As a mouse it works great - fast and accurate. I bought this because it was a full size mouse, but it still doesn't feel quite right in my hand. Someone said it doesn't fill their hand. I agree, it doesn't fill mine either. It has a large plastic ring around the front - in front of the buttons, so if my fingers are too far forward, instead of pressing on the edge if the buttons and still working (as with other logitech mice) I find myself still pressing on the plastic ring. What is this plastic ring for? It makes the mouse bigger but serves no purpose. Aside from the disappointing ergonomics, everything else about this miuse is great.

Not impressed
Date:29 January 2012
Thumb button is too high on the mouse; you have to move from comfortable to uncomfortable to use it, and it's right against the side of your hand; you end up having to shift your entire grip. Stopped working after less than a year for no reason - the communication with the PC became intermittent so that the pointer moved jerkily rather than smoothly. Rebooting pc and or turning off/on the mouse didn't help, nor did updating the software. Finally, after uninstalling the software, a survey pops up after reboot, showing that the uninstall is incomplete

Coming from Apple's Magic Touch to Logitech M510
Date:16 June 2011
I had the Apple's Magic Mouse, I was loving that mouse but until my hand started to hurt after 10 minutes of use. It took the mouse 1 day to get used to the laptop's settings, the movement was slightly laggy as well. After 3 days of pain, I had no choice to return it. I did not want to see it go, I love apple products but sadly thats not meant for my hands. Then I ordered the Logitech M510 with Innovera gel pad. Man what a great decision this was, just plug in USB into macbook and volla, its working. The mouse is very comfortable to use, battery life is very impressive. Although it should have rechargeable batteries. Overall This is the best and my first wireless mouse I've ever used. Thank you Logitech!

Seems to work on my any surface. Very accurate and responsive when I work on my windows 7 system. I cant see why using one battery instead of two makes it any lighter to move. I would definitly recommend this mouse to a friend

Overall pretty disapointing
Date:08 January 2011
I have been using the mouse for a week now. I had high hopes it would improve my work quality and speed on Photoshop & other design programs.
But the mouse is quite poor at tracking accurately, especially when working on a pixel level in Photoshop.
It also does not work on any surface as I had hoped. I have to use it on a mouse mat.
The only thing it has going for it is the ergonomics, which are good, particularly the forward and back buttons.

Disappointing performance, partic at this price. This mouse failed to work on mouse mats I'd been using with other - and cheaper - mouse brands for years. It's not just a fault with one, as I bought two and their performance was poor. My advice is buy one that claims it works on almost any surface.

What went wrong?
Date:28 August 2010
There is something not right with this mouse! Tracking is bad on normal desktops and I have tried to tune the acceleration and other settings.
Size is not a good as I had hoped. It's bigger than normal mouse but dispite the dimensions 120mm long x 35mm high it doesn't fill the hand like it should.
This can work with single AA battery rather than two to make the mouse lighter which is genius!
