I got these speakers 6 months ago to go in my room and at first sight they are beautiful, when i finally turned them on i was surprised, as a bass addict i was impressed. they are so easy to set up compared to the surround sound in the living room which takes about an hour to set up where as these only take a min or two. They are also very strong, as a friend accidentally poured liquid onto it and they were working within a hour. i would highly recommend if you would like a nice clean crisp sound.

Worst Logitech Product Ever

I bought these speakers about 6 months ago. and initially was pleased with them. Gradually over time, the sound began to degrade until there was barely a whisper from them.Worse still, the fault was intermittent, so they could work ok for a few hours, days or even weeks, then the fault would reoccur.
At the moment, I'm waiting to hear back from Logitech about solving the problem, but I don't seem to be getting very far. I've always been happy with Logitech's Customer Care and before this would have recommended their products without hesitation. Now, however, I'm not so sure.
I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend this product. I'm very disappointed all round.

These Z506 speakers are amazing!
The sound quality, the bass, EVERYTHING! The speakers are great quality have multi connections for things like iPod/MP3 device to a games console. They are 100% worth every penny.
One small minus is that there are a few cables but this is fine if you have good cable management, i recommend using cable ties!

Stay very very far away. First purchase of these z506's died after 3 days. THREE DAYS! replacement unit died after 8 weeks. absolutely ridiculous. Google it - seems to be a widespread issue.

A Great Speaker System

I've had the Logitech Z506 for about 5 months and I think they are a powerful and good quality surround sound speakers. When I first un-boxed them I was expecting a bigger subwoofer but I was blown away with the amazing sound quality. They were AMAZING. With a sleek design to match my black furniture and amazing sound quality, I couldn't ask for anything more. However, after a few months they were still producing good sound but the performance and quality have declined. Sometimes they sound great and other times they make a white noise or a buzzing sound. The subwoofer is deep and rich but sometimes I hear plastic rattling inside of it. For games and movies they are rich and clear but with music it sounds a little distorted. I would recommend these speakers to a friend. Overall, these speakers are great for movies and games and I'm looking forward to more upcoming Logitech products.

Great speakers for the money. As my PC and PS3 are in a small room I don't need the full 5.1, 2.1 was more than enough but I did need the multi inputs this system has hence why I bought them. The sound is very clear and the base deep and thumping. Easy to set up with clear instructions. I admit they arn't then best looking speakers out there but for the money you can't go wrong.

great sound shame about the lifetime

lifetime worst ive had in speakers. 3 months mine have lasted for. NOT impressed!!!! front left and right speakers sound has gone weird. not very good low bass frequency and playing to the maximum volume makes the sound distorted.
buy if you want short term use. other than that recommend using different sound system.

these speakers work great! the bass is nice and rich and the satellite speakers all sound great. I have no buzzing so I don't know what all of the reviewers are talking about. These work great and look great. Glad I bought them.

Not bad, only lasted 2 months

I have owned these speakers since 31/05/11 ( now 30/07/11) and the speakers are ok for the money. The sound is clear enough, I was more than happy with the product.
This morning however, I switched the unit on, pop goes the sub and now nothing. For a product to only last 2 months isn't very good at all.
I would think that it's a simple fuse problem in the sub but it is that badly designed you can't just replace it, I have now got the hassle of trying to return the speakers for replacement or refund. hopefully refund as I don;t want this happening ever 2 months.
Overall I would say they are worth the money, but only if they last a good few years and not a couple of months.
I will update if I have problems with the next set I get

Amazing 5.1 system for computer set-up

First 5.1 system I've ever used on my machine and I have almost nothing bad to say about it. The quality is awesome if your not used to a much more high end set up like the z5500 or something similair. I got these for 90$ and I'm very impressed with the sound quality and the "oomph" from the sub. It is somewhat limited in inputs and optional settings but for a simple set-up it is more than enough. Great system for the price, highly reccomend.

White noise when there is no music playing

Thought it was just a bad set of speakers so i changed the first set after 23 hrs the second set where a little better I think? but still a un-even white noise even with the speakers disconnected from the computer (i tried a mains filter to see if that would help and it did not.). If your turn the volume control up the white noise sound is less (this noise is not like normal hiss from speakers its worse! my old speakers had hiss a lot loader but it was better than this up and down hiss werrrr noise)
The sound while playing game/films so far seems good and i am happy with that it just when you are on the internet the noise may drive you mad so i might be taking these back for a refund!!

Great Bang per Buck 5.1 Surround with good Ports!

Had these for a few days now, excellent quality drivers. People getting background buzzing, that sounds like 60hz ground hum caused by local electronic circuits. Check that out because mine don't do that, the odd crackle but certainly no buzzing!
These things have power, 75W is great for a bedroom or when you have the speakers more local.
Only issue? Subwoofer can drown out the satellites if you're not careful with the dial for bass. :P

Poor quality design

I took the first Z506 back to the store because I assumed they were faulty but a second set proved they were just badly made. The issue with them is that you receive a constant background buzzing noise from the speakers when ever they are switched on. Its infuriating! With 6 speakers in the room its like having a a bee buzzing in every corner of your room. The buzz is a constant level regardless of the volume level so it could be drowned out by the audio but moments or suspense or drama that use silence to build tension will be ruined by this system. I would not recommend them for any user.
