Not the keyboard I was expecting
Date:25 January 2013
This keyboard is a dismantlement for me. Key quality is really low! Especially big buttons like Enter. Also, what is the most important thing, I don't want to type on it, since buttons feels cheap, really cheap. I can go on and go on. I am not a troll that likes to write bad or good things, but this keyboard made me do this. I don't really understand how other put such a high score for a quality of this keyboard. The plastic that this keyboard is made of is so low quality. Font oh the keys is also not the best one. Previous products of Logitech are much better.

A solid good keyboard
Date:20 August 2012
For a really long time I was really sceptical about new Logitech keyboards - I've been using old Logitech "Internet Keyboard" for over 8 years. But time has come, I replaced the keyboard and a mouse with wireless ones and frankly that was the best decision ever.
Logitech K800 is very ergonomical. Normally I type quite fast, but with K800 I type 1.5x faster! Keystrokes are really smooth. Backlight works great and the battery is good. What I didn't like at first was the font, which Logitech used for keys, it looks kinda childish, I would really go for something more strict and narrow. But as I don't look at the keyboard while typing, that doesn't disturb me much.
On the downside are: -You can't set the backlight time -Can't change app for "calculator" button -Not sure how to clean the keyboard. It was really easy with an old one.

Best keyboard ever
Date:20 May 2012
K800 is by far the best keyboard ever (including those on IBM Thinkpads).
It is a shame that there is no option for non wireless and non glowing with the same layout and quality.
89GBP is too much (I have bought two).

Owned a total of 5 between 2 users
Date:28 April 2012
Between two of us, we have so far needed 3 warranty replacements as a key-cap was shed by each. It has not happened with any previous Logitech keyboards so we are concerned that it should happen several times in succession with a single model.
We have both been completely satisfied in the past but not quite so happy this time. Will we buy another Logitech keyboard - possibly!

Sharp Edged
Date:27 July 2011
After working so hard to achieve nice rounded keys which are nice to type on, the keyboard itself is sharp edged, making it nasty to handle. And if you have a wireless keyboard you are likely to move it around. The plastic hand rest at the bottom of the keyboard is so much better than the cold metal one on the Edge Keyboard.
The illumination is cool although only one colour. I would also like to be able to change the colour of the extended function keys; the orange makes it look cheap. When viewing the keyboard from an angle the back-light shines around the keys which is a big distraction. Else it dose what it says and shines in the dark. I wait to see how the battery lasts, seems strange though that I can not set the back light only to come on at night since it has a sensor. I can only set the level.
Overall Logitech make great keyboards, this is just not quite the quality and feel I'd expect at this price. If you what the best keyboard and need the back light get one, else get an Edge if your house is nice and warm and the metal hand rest dose not bother you. So close just not 10 out of 10.

Quality product but odd power options
Date:12 May 2011
The keyboard feels superb - reminds me of older mechanical switch / buckling spring type.
Layout is clean and even with the back key lights off the letters/numbers are very clear.
The backlit led key lighting is very effective especially if environmental lighting is low / off
I tested it out with Bad Company 2 and BF2 and all the keys worked as expected. ................
The keyboard uses a very small unifying receiver for wireless operation and although the information says you can also use the keyboard while charging you still need the unifying receiver connected therefore requiring 2 USB ports - the charging cable is NOT a replacement for the USB unifying receiver.
The keyboard uses 2 rechargeable AA batteries (1.2v 2000mAh much the same as Eneloop / Hybrio pre-charged type so I'm surprised that just swapping batteries isn't offered as an option should you run our of power unexpectedly and don't have 2nd spare USB port. Unfortunately though the batteries are behind a screw cover and there's a piece of black plastic partially covering one of the batteries. .................. PS3 - works great, just plug in unifying receiver into a USB port and away you go.

Maybe expensive but it is worth the money
Date:30 March 2011
I have been a big fan of Logitech ever since my first Logitech keyboard back in 1989. And now, over 22 years later; I have finally found the keyboard you dreamed about as a teenager, whereas in my day it would have been Battle Star Gallatica and Buck Rogers and the 25th Century. You may be asking yourself, but it’s a keyboard; what is so special about a keyboard? The Logitech K800 is not just a wireless keyboard with a standard layout; it does a lot more than just type.
Advantages Illuminated keyboard with close proximity sensor Adjustable Backlight Wireless 2.4GHz Rechargeable keyboard, (does not require batteries) Easy storage (folds away and stands upright) On screen display functions and standard operations Small and compact keyboard with a wedge like shaped body Easy to install and use straight away. No need for additional software* Piano finish around the keyboard area adds to the appearance
Disadvantages Small Shift key on the left of the keyboard can be a bit of a pain Would have liked to have seen more colours for the backlight, Neon, Amber, Red and White Not the lightest of keyboard, weighing in at 2lb is quite heavy for a keyboard Limited Windows 7 functions although there are the basics Price tag of £89.99 is quite expensive for a keyboard, but when you consider, you don’t need batteries, its wireless, the keys illuminate and you can charge whilst using the keyboard, moreover, you can turn off the keyboard when you have finished with your PC to conserve power. Taking these into account it quickly turns into a positive rather than a negative.
*Make sure that you have the latest version of SetPoint installed

Get it - Now.
Date:20 February 2011
Got this board working with the 'unifying' USB and my Perfomance MX mouse. The keyboard is simply excellent - great keystroke action and very comfortable to use. I rate it better than my old diNovo keyboard. The usual problems with Win7 x64 and Setpoint on my system but after a frustrating couple of days getting the software installed, I am very happy. If you are not comfortable messing with your system services and Task Manager, then best keep clear until Setpoint is fixed. Once Setpoint install works, it will get a 5 on ease of use. Otherwise, buy it now - if you can find one in stock!

The K800 is sleek, stylish and best of all, illuminated! Installation is quick and easy....ideal for the novice out there. The keyboard illuminates as your hand approaches it due to some very clever sensors, so there's no energy wasting. The brightness of the keyboard automatically adjusts to the lighting in the room, ie the darker it is, the brighter it gets. Don't worry though, you can manually adjust the brightness using the keyboard. The curvature of the keys makes it easy and comfortable to just glide your fingers over and the usual keyboard 'clunk' as you hit them, isn't there, it's almost silent. Technology at it's best with a fantastic slimline design which will compliment any household.

Great Keyboard
Date:11 January 2011
I was really excited to have the chance to try out this keyboard..It was easy to set up, and the backlight facility is my favourite feature as I'm always on my pc late at night and with a small desk light it wasn't always easy to type but this keyboard is terrific and I can now type into the night without a problem LOL

Great keyboard!
Date:05 January 2011
This keyboard is ideal for me. My main computer is in my bedroom, which does not have the best lighting in the world, and if I use the main light I am sitting in my own shadow, so to have keys that light up is a godsend! It is comfortable to use, does not waste energy by being lit all the time and is responsive when you do put your hands near. Only draw back for me is that the keys are very sensitive and I have been hitting extra keys in error, although I believe this is just a matter of getting used to the keyboard.

WHERE IS THE RIGHT WINDOW KEY? I simply do not understand this latest design nonsense of adding all sorts of multi-media keys to keyboards, and removing, what to myself, is a key I could NOT be without. Maybe the key could be remapped, but it shouldn't be necessary. Come on Logitech, get the design right and PLEASE put the right WINDOW key back on your keyboard designs.

Impressive, so long as the letters don't wear off
Date:24 November 2010
After discarding about half a dozen Logitech keyboards because the letters started to wear off within a few months, I thought that backlit keys are less likely to suffer the same fate. Only time will tell. But in action it is impressive. I like the feel of the keys – less 'plasticky' than most and nicely 'sculpted'. Classy.
It took a bit of time to get it to register with the receiver for an existing trackball. I had to invoke the unifying software. But after that, the thing is easy to use.
It will take time to get used to the subtle changes in the layout, especially the function keys, which are less flexible than, for example, the EX110 and MK300. And why do the designers insist on moving around the keys for Ins, Home, End, etc.?
I had not twigged that it runs on rechargeable batteries that you can feed with the USB cable in the box. Nice feature. The ability to stand it upright is nice, but the small hinges that adjust the angle seem a bit flimsy – I have had these break before.
At the discount price of £71.99 for trading in an old keyboard, and with free delivery, it isn't even that expensive.

Great keyboard
Date:12 October 2010
The K800 has a lot going for it. The backlighting works well (it can go brighter than the Illuminated Keyboard) and the layout is fine for typing traditionalists. The keys are nice to type on with the exception of the Enter key which has a rather plasticky sound when pressed. Unlike the Illuminated Keyboard, the Print Screen button on the K800 works perfectly.
It's worth noting that you can't use the keyboard to enter your BIOS setup during the PC's POST unless you have the unifying receiver plugged into a usb socket on your motherboard's I/O panel (or a front panel usb socket). While my K800 was fine with the resulting increased distance between it and the unifying receiver, my Performance MX mouse was not, and it began to act unpredictably. This problem was quickly solved by using the usb extension cable that comes with the keyboard to get the receiver closer to my desktop.
Overall, I like this keyboard very much.

Can confirm pressing W and SHIFT together, the SPACEBAR will NOT register. Other than that though I love it, key presses are smooth, wireless range is superb & looks awesome.

My short review. Good gaming board..
Date:17 September 2010
Just a short review. I've had this key board for a few days. I exchanged the K340 for this, as the K340 had a known issue with the W + D + SPACEBAR not registering all 3 when pressed. By the time I ordered this keyboard, I found the first review on this web page from Adam T and he mentions W + SHIFT + SPACEBAR not registering. I was shocked to say the least. I've had the K800 for a few days now, and I decided to test this problem out in Crysis Warhead. I found there was no problem with these keys! I tested a number of key combinations, including the one which had the problem on the K340. All seems to be fine. Phew! I won't say too much more, as I haven't had it long, but if you were scared that it might not be suitable for gaming, I can say with experience that it should be fine, and I put the case with Adam T an isolated incidence. Adam, return your board for another, and you should be fine (hopefully!).

DO NOT BUY if you play FPS
Date:09 September 2010
A word of warning. As an unhappy purchaser of the wired illuminated keyboard due to the reason I will detail below, do not buy this if you are a keen FPSer as they've told me it contains the same "design" (which I like to think of as a "flaw").
When pressing W and SHIFT together, the SPACEBAR will NOT register. Meaning you cannot sprint forward then jump (with the almost universal FPS standard keys). You can remap but if you're a die-hard like me it's too confusing!
