Having used many Logitech products such as Keyboards and mice when my mouse died i started looking for another. I looked a other brands but stayed with Logitech thought it was a safe bet. Ordered on line the M570 trackball to reduce wear on my arm. Well it arrived and i started to use it ball felt loose and hard to control maybe just me getting used to a new mouse. But no my son who uses Trackballs in work had a go with it and he said it was slappy moving the ball and bottons to control page back forward hard to reach. Ah well back to shopping for another.

Amazingly well built and light. If only more people knew about them, then everyone would buy them. Take using a mouse in bed for example.....

Life saver!
Date:31 January 2012
After a serious spinal injury my husband lost interest in everything. He found it impossible to control a normal mouse and would spend hours trying to get back to his computer with no success. Much more than that he became so frustrated it made him psycologically much worse and that had a knock on effect with his physical rehabilitation. When I found the trackball he was able for the first time in ages to keep the pointer in position and press the click buttons to select. The joy in being able to find some measure of control in his life was phenomenal and had a far stronger positive effect on his general well being. When he broke it , by running his wheelchair over it he was desperate. At the time they were difficult to find in the UK but my brother brought one over from the States and joy was resumed. Thank you Logitech!!

Best Mouse Ever
Date:02 November 2011
I first used a trackball some years ago and when that 'died' started to use a conventional mouse. When I saw this mouse advertised I decided that I wanted to go back to using a trackball. It is very easy on the hand and wrist and because it has a small footprint will sit comfortably at the side of the keyboard. The first major plus is that it has a long battery life and the second is the fact that it is cordless.

Get that nice blue ball
MedicalFlyer hits the nail on the head. It is great to see Logitech breathing life into a form factor that looked like it was at death's door.
It is years since we had a new Trackball. The Cordless Optical Trackman had a stab at it, but it couldn't match the simplicity and ease of use of the TrackMan Wheel. It was also ugly as sin.
The M570 – they should shoot whoever came up with that name – arrived today and it was a delight to see the same old familiar shape. And being black it will not show the sweaty paw prints that were all too visible its predecessor.
It behaves in the same old way, which is what we want. The USB receiver is much better than those large wireless boxes. The extra two buttons – backwards and forwards and programmable – are just enough added function to keep the thing easy to use.
Now I just need to find a keyboard that works with the receiver and with letters that don't rub off after a few months.

At Last!
Date:20 October 2010
I found a Hong Kong based eBay seller stocking these and was a bit sceptical at first about the product being genuine. Received it promptly and am very pleased.
My previous trackball was a Logitech TrackMan Marble+ owned from new (yes, really that long). I refused to replace it having tried the following TrackMan series and various others from the likes of MS and co. I could not find a single one that had the comfort of the old Marble+ which will now be travelling with my laptop until it finally gives in and stops working.
I believe this would perfectly suit those like me that preferred the slightly more spread out older shape like the Marble+ and those that are fans of the ones that followed. It seems that Logitech have finally made a mouse that has the best of both worlds and uses their new Unifying technology.
I've not tried the mouse for gaming yet as I have not played much for a good while but for any trackball user this should be just fine as it is very comfortable to use.
Battery life is hard to gauge only having used it for a few hours out of the suggested 18 months but I can't see why it wouldn't last a good long while even at a 12-14 months it would be very good on one AA battery.
and for anyone that wondered and read about the older TrackMan red balls working in M570 it's safe to say this is true. I tried the one from my Marble+ and while being a very different design to those in the later TrackMans and the new blue ball it worked just fine. I would imagine that any ball of the right size providing it have a smooth reflective surface would work.
This is a very well built device and Logitech have certainly put a lot of care and thought into the design. For me to put my Marble+ into semi-retirement after all these years must surely be a good sign :-)
