Samsung UE50ES550 Smart TV

Date:27 November 2012
Read another review about using this with a Samsung Smart TV - thought the Samsung price was too much and thought I'd try this keyboard - works a treat and saved me paying out over £80!

works on Samsung UE40ES5500 Smart TV's

Date:26 October 2012
OK, its got a quirky key layout very laptop style, the shift keys could be better located & bigger etc a standard keyboard style might have been better, but it works great, has good range and the setup was childs play.
I bought it as I'd moved my desktop PC next to our old Samsung LCD TV which we'd relocated to the dining room, with the intention of using the PC to surf the net with the TV as the monitor. Setup on the PC was simply plug and play, no drivers required.
We bought a brand new 2012 Samsung SMART TV to replace the old one in the living room, and I was pretty cheesed off to find the Samsung keyboard & touchpad which they market specifically for their smart TV range doesn't actually work with our new one as it's bluetooth only (and triple the price of the Logitech) and the tV isnt BT equipped.
Simply for an experiment I plugged the Logitech unifying wireless dongle into the SMART TV USB port and got an instant connection and a fully working keyboard & touchpad to use with Samsung browser....BONUS!!! I didn't have to do anything setup wise, it just worked, plug & play on the tV as well.
Marvellous

K400 - A bit too compact, and hard type

Date:28 September 2012
Bought this in desperation to replace a huge clunky wired keyboard at work.
I have multiple sclerosis , so a small keystroke is really important to me, and also keys which are not easily 'missed'.
I did not realise this was a compact keyboard until UI first used it - the box is pretty big, and it looked almost the same size in the shop - but when using it realised there is no space between the keys and the keys are small.
Nice touch pad - works very well.
Also though the stroke is small in length, it is quite noisy and feels hard - not difficult, but the feel is of hitting something that has a hardness to it.
Shame really, as it is sold as having 'Comfortable, quiet typing' and 'Perfectstroke'- but it is nothing like the quite easy typing say of the K750. I have decided that I will have to replace it.

K400

Date:14 January 2012
Impossible to use if you touch type, keyboard layout is shocking. Worst still is the range, I'm not 2 meters from the pc with the usb dongle in the front of the machine and it lags, skips and drops constantly. Taking it back at the next convenient opportunity in exchange for a competitors make. Such a disappointment... why do manufacturers keep using 2.4ghz which is interrupted by so many other pieces of equipment - fridges, tv's, mobile phones etc?

Very good purchase

Date:04 January 2012
I bought this as it was the only small wifi keyboard that I could find in Staples, & I wanted one that would go with my laptop. I have found it to be a really good buy as its small enough to store easily, and works really well with the typing I have to do for my husband.

Good

Date:23 December 2011
Bought this (was pleased to find one as current stock shortage - (try staples - £29.99 too).
Its good on the whole its alittle small and the buold auality is very light that being so its designed as alaptop etc type accessory. I have it hooked up to a pc that is only used to play music and the keyboard is small and fits away easily. Key response is fine the touchpad is VERY well tuned. As others have said a few more buttons wouldn't go amiss - next/back/pause/play etc for the media player

Excellent Product

Date:28 October 2011
This product is excellent for every day use, it is nimble and easy to use, I would highly recommend it,
This only downside I have with Logictech about this product is it should have more functions added to it, it has the necessaries but could do with more.
Also the amount of packaging it came with from UPS was really over the top. The box the actual keyboard came in from UPS could have fit 3 of the them in it.

Works great with PS3

Date:11 October 2011
I have a PS3 and bought this so I could rename files and other simple typing jobs and for is does a great job. If you are after a keyboard for any amount of serious typing then this isn't really suitable.

Really useful Keyboard

Date:10 October 2011
Great little product, really useful for media pc. Touchpad easy to use and very responsive. The Keys are a little small for all day use. Works well on your lap !

Very disappointing

Date:05 October 2011
I just received this keyboard and was disappointed as soon as I saw it. It's very plasticy and typing is harder than with a normal keyboard, as it's much smaller. If you type a lot, it's definitely very uncomfortable. And typing is not that quiet either. I'm sending it back straight away.
